October 2009 Events Raise Cash for Kid's Kingdom

Here is my report about two fund raising events to support our after school Kids Kingdom Program which is held in the Limerick Opportunity Centre, with some photos.

!) We held a Build A Burger night at the Limerick Hotel. The Build A Burger Night fund raiser event, was held on the 2 Oct, 2009, at Limerick Hotel. It was a fantastic turn out and we made over $800.

The Kids Kingdom would like to say A BIG thank you to all who showed up to build their burgers and hope you had a good time. We would like to thank Sheryl and Roberta for donating their time to help us. Thanks to Leslie for doing the 50/50 which was won by Jeff Bushell and thanks Jeff for donating back some of your winnings.

Thanks to Hilda and Joe for letting us put this fundraiser on, and for their donation too. Thanks Gary and Dave for cooking great burgers and to Sharon for helping out too. Thanks to Lynne for helping to get this night up and running, you did fab.

2) We also held a Bottle Drive all over town. The Bottle Drive was also a great success this year. The people of Limerick did well for keeping their empties. Thanks so much. It was not the best of days weather wise, but everyone had a great time collecting the bottles.

Therefore we would like to thank the following parents who came out to help us; Randy and Sheryl , Gary and Sharon, Rod and Roberta, Bob, Susann and Lynn. Thanks also goes out to the Kids who did all the hard work; Mariah, Matt, Jessell, Derek, Cameron, Daryl and Connor.

Special thanks to Bob Smith and Grant Karasinski for hauling all the bottles to Sarcan for us .

Photography Seminar for Beginners Nov 20 - 21 2009

Nov 2 2009: Limerick SK -- In this introductory course interested participants will learn the basics of photography regardless of the type of camera. The course will cover basic photographic concepts to help you create pleasing images. Included will be basics such as controlling exposure, depth of field, compositional guidelines and characteristics of light (as time allows). Teaching is through a combination of lecture and images to demonstrate these concepts. Handout notes are provided. Participants would find it helpful to have a working knowledge of their individual cameras.Course dates: Friday, November 20, 7 to 10 pm
and Saturday, November 21, 9 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4 pmCourse cost $75 includes coffee breaks.Instructor Profile: Marg Wiebe, Swift Current Sask.
